Abstract

More science literacy is an essential part of modern education. Literacy in science means not only understanding scientific ideas, but also being able to apply them in everyday life. In today's fast-growing era of technology and information, creative approaches are needed to help people learn well. To enhance science literacy, science fiction is one of the interesting approaches. However, often science material is presented in a conventional form and difficult to understand for many people, especially for children. By combining interesting narratives with clear and relevant illustrations, scientific narratives are able to explain natural phenomena, scientific processes, and other complex concepts in a more understandable and entertaining way. Through this approach, increased science literacy is not only more accessible, but also more enjoyable. These stories can nurture interest and enthusiasm for science from an early age, as well as build a strong foundation for deeper understanding in the future. In this introduction, we will explore why science-pictured stories are important, how such stories can influence the understanding of science, and how the application of these concepts can help improve science literacy overall. To make learning interesting, educators must be able to create a learning resource that attracts students. One way to do this is by using a picture storybook. A picture book is a reading book that contains stories and pictures. Pictures in this book usually describe the atmosphere of the story, either in the form of fairy tales, legends, or animal stories (fabel). If colorful writing and pictures work together, the interest in reading and curiosity will emerge about the story of the book. Children will enjoy reading the storybook with colorful pictures. Picture storytelling can help literacy learning in elementary school.
